'My Robben Island' is the title of artwork by ex-president and Nobel Laureate Nelson Mandela.
The Robben Island Series was sketched and completed by Nelson Mandela between March and June 2002. The series is made up of 5 sketches
and a written motivation of subjects from Robben Island. They are images that Mr Mandela found deeply meaningful during the period of his incarceration on the island.
The sketches have been executed in simple black charcoal lines with selected elements highlighted in pure pastel colours. |
